Metro Weddings Magazine

I still remember dreaming of seeing my work published.
And to be in the cover, THE COVER!,  is way more than what I've hoped for.
Thank you Metro Weddings for making that dream come true, 3 times over :-)

Forever grateful,

Veluz

Dear Ms. V,

This could be just one of the many messages you will ever receive.

I just want to thank you for making our wedding day very memorable :-)  These trimmings are just a bonus for what weddings and marriages should be in reality.

I had no set plans or images of a perfect or dream wedding for myself nor had a concrete idea idea of what my dream wedding gown should appear or look like.  You made it all happen and the little to no expectation I had surprised my husband and I in many ways... Thank you for being more than just a designer but also a person with a real touch for the human soul.  Ms. V, thank you!! :-)

Fondly,

Ina

PS.  Just like most of your brides, I really do miss visiting your place especially getting to talk with your staff.  I enjoyed every bit of the preparations especially my fittings .... :-(

Abby

She said hello with a faint smile when she entered my office.  And I thought, uh-oh this is trouble :-)  Scrap lace, and all those intricate and dainty stuff, she's definitely not the typical romantic bride.  This girl is scene-stealing glitz.
I did the sketch and presented the details, just a little chit-chat, not much :-)  I was even thinking the entire time,  "hey this is my turf, you can't intimidate me!" hahaha!
I was actually surprised when she confirmed less than a week later and Alvin, her fiance then, husband now, paid the entire amount in full.

So much trust. :-)
So much pressure... :/

Every fitting she'd be on time, not a single friend, only her dog. Ok, so should we talk to the dog now?  "Hey Bentley, you think she's happy? Arf arf?"
Each time I'm baffled if she's liking the gown or not.
Oh whatever, I love how it's turning out and she may not admit it, but it's her :-)

I was extremely happy when on our final fitting, she blurted out "this gown is unbelievable"
I knew then, I nailed it :-)
Was I happy?
oh happiness is an understatement :-)

Dear Veluz,

It's been almost 6 months since I got married and it was only last week that I saw THE DRESS again.  My driver and I are both absentminded hence the 6 month delay of picking it up after the cleaning and preservation.

I may be absentminded with errands but I will never forget THE DRESS.

Do you remember that you called me weird for always going to fittings all by myself?  I purposely had no entourage because the truth is, I was selfish.  I did not want anyone to have a preview of the most beautiful gown I would wear at the most important time of my life at the time it was being created. I did not want comments from anyone but yourself about how it should look.  The creation of THE DRESS  was the time I saw your genius in its full glory.  I knew you made beautiful gowns but you truly exceeded my expectations.

Not only do you master the woman's body, you match THE DRESS with the bride's personality.  In our first meeting together, you read me perfectly and created... RED CARPET BRIDAL.

The bride usually outshines everyone on her wedding day but you physically made sure that even if the lights were off, everyone would have their eyes on me.  Quoting you, "ikaw na ikaw yan, MALDITA"

It's been almost 6 months since I got married but I still hear compliments about THE DRESS.  It just shows how timeless you are and your wonderful masterpieces  A very big thank you for not only making me very happy on my wedding day but also for making other people remember it as one of the best wedding dresses they have ever seen.

Sarah

Hi Ms. V!

Let me say my BIGGEST THANK YOU for making me beautiful on my life's most special day.
I never felt so girly until I've worn a VELUZ gown. Akala ko kasi lalaki ako. hahaha!
I felt confidence running through my whole body and I was very, very happy.
My gown reflects my personality. Simpleng bongga! hahaha !
I didn't regret a single peso I spent on it. Sabi ko nga kay JayJay, handa akong magbenta ng kidney para lang maisuot ko ang gown ni Veluz!
All my guests were raving about my gown. Lahat sila manghang-mangha! Ang sinasagot ko naman, instead of saying thank you, "Veluz yan!".
I am so damn proud!

Thank you. Thank you for making me very happy.
More than anything else, thank you for not trying to change me. My gown speaks for myself.
I'm proud to be a Veluz bride!

See you soon!

Sarah (Theresa Sta.Brigida - Teodoro)

Pauline

It is always a challenge designing clothes for people who are highly creative.  Pauline and Ivan leads the motion graphics studio, Acid House.  They both seemed very artsy, but they were very quiet too during the initial meeting.  I may not have shown it then but I really had a difficult time conceptualizing the gown.  Like what I always say, your wedding gown should reflect who you are.   She speaks softly yet you can feel her strength.  She appreciates details, but I don't think she's a show-off.  She's someone who can wear paisley prints matching a skull ring and she'd look well put together.  She's different, but there's something familiar about her :-)  So do I come up with skulls and crosses in her gown?  Can I just throw paint all over?  Do I tear up the seams and just go all out crazy?  I can do that too, but I honestly felt she's not the type.
I did the sketch and I presented the details. The difficult part is always presenting the design, explaining the details so they can see my vision.  These are the times where I silently wish I live in Sesame Street, where I can just throw my thought bubble to someone and we will think exactly alike :-) They listened intently the entire time.  Not a single question.  I was actually prepared to be rejected then but I will stand by my sketch, it is her - something familiar, yet very different.  Detailed, but not over the top.  :-)

They both smiled, they loved the idea, and I was happy.
Their wedding, according to my staff, was one of the most heartfelt and most intimate weddings they've seen.  It was unique yet it was real.
Congratulations Pauline and Ivan!
And thank you for having us :-)

Hello Ms. Veluz!

Can't thank you enough for the wonderful wedding dress :-)   Gandang ganda silang lahat .... the details are so controlled, so beautiful!  And our families and friends were all impressed on how great Ivan and I both looked that day. .. You are a blessing to us.  You helped made our dream wedding come true.
I'm hoping to hang this gown in a gallery or museum somewhere.  It is just so beautiful :-)

God bless, you're an inspiration.

Love,

Ivan and Pauline
